Bandung; Everyone's Favorite for Sweet-Weekend-Escape

On April 11th, I and my friend, Ester & Henny went to Bandung for weekend escape. Originally we will watch a musical collaboration performance titled “Kita Sama-sama Suka Hujan” from Indonesian local indie musician; Banda Neira, Layur, Gardika Gigih, Suta Suma & Jeremia Kimoshabe. Actually I am not that into local indie music hahaha, but let’s try something new, isn’t it?

We stayed in 101 Dago Hotel, it has a strategic location in the main area Jl Ir H Djuanda thus we can arrive easily to our main visiting places. We booked the hotel by www.booking.com, it offers a choice for a customer to pay on site. Thus we have not afraid for the cancelation fee since we pay during check in. The hotel has a unique & luxurious interior design, even though the space was too small rather than any other one.

We visited Rumah Buku Kineruku in Jl Hegarmanah, we were surprised for its neighborhood, and it was so calming, peaceful and green. The atmosphere inside Kineruku was so quite, it offers lots of books from arts, music, architecture, philosophy and it sells lots of indie music CD and cassettes. PS the shopkeepers was a little bit scary hahahaha

It is the time!! We watched the musical performance in Dago Tea House, before that we get lost in finding the venue due to the wrong information in event poster. Hahahahaha. For the beginner Indie Music fans like me, I called it music for soul. Indeed!! Banda Neira, which famous for their simple and natural musical melody; combined with Layur, a post-rock musician origin from Bantul lol; Gardiki Gigih, I called him the next of Erwin Guttawa; and the duo string Suta Suma, the violist and my fave one Jeremia Kimoshabe, the cellist.

On the next day, we went for breakfast to Two Hands Full, a coffee shop which offers a variety of breakfast menu, located in Jl Cipaganti. GOSH, I love this place. I am a fans of western breakfast, the sausages, the sunny side up, the breads, everything is so delicious and CHEAP (compare to Jakarta’s western breakfast price hahahaha). We ordered Big Brekky and Omega Lover, it served with a big portion too. The total cost for fours person breakfast is only 220K IDR, I was superb happy. Beside the food and the price, I love the waitress too, its kinda look of “Koko-koko Bandung Gemes” hahahaha.

After we full with breakfast, we went to Tebing Keraton. Its kinda of hill and cliff located in Taman Hutan Raya Djuanda. The track for getting there was a lil bit tricky, beside the small & rocky road (we went by city car indeed hahaha), we have to follow the instruction properly, I got from this. Then we continue by riding Ojek, due to the very rocky roads. But ALL WAS WORT PAID WITH ITS VIEW. It was superb and a breathless view for me.

In this trip, we miss for visiting Selasar Sunaryo Art Space and some open-bar-sky café in Dago area. So I assume it could be the next Bandung Trip Part 2 maybe? Hahahaha.

Adios.
